Tickell’s blue flycatcher


Tickell’s blue flycatcher is a small graceful bird. Spotting this tiny bird is difficult even if you are able to hear its metallic song as this bird is very much wary

How does the bird appear…

The male has bright blue upper parts. Throat and breast are red while rest of the under parts are white. The female is duller blue with a brighter blue brow, shoulder, rump, and tail.

Habitat: Where to find this bird?

Tickell’s blue flycatcher is forest-loving species and is found in thick cover and shade. It breeds in dry forest, scrub, bamboo and gardens.


It is insectivorous bird.

Breeding & Nesting

The breeding season is from April to August .This bird nests in a hole in a tree or amongst rocks.
