Striated grassbird is noisy and can be spotted easily sitting and calling on tops of grasses, bushes and telephone wires.

How does the bird appear…

It is large easy to indentify birds with its long graduated tail. It shows brown crown and white supercillium.  It has brown body with black streaks on upper parts and brown streaks on breast and under wings.

Habitat: Where to find this bird?

It inhabits open marshland and wet grassland with tall grass.

Food

It feeds mainly on small invertebrates.

Breeding & Nesting

It breeds between April to July in Indian subcontinent. Nest is open cup shaped structure made up of grass, reeds, small twigs etc.
