Silent valley national park is situated in Palakkad District of Kerala. Around 150 bird species are recorded including almost all the 16 endemic birds of southern India.
Birds commonly seen:
Nilgiri wood-pigeon, Malabar parakeet, Malabar grey horn-bill, White-bellied treepie, Grey-headed bulbul, Broad-tailed grassbird, Rufous babbler, Wynaad laughing thrush, Nilgiri laughing thrush, Nilgiri blue robin, Black-and-rufous flycatcher, Nilgiri flycatcher, White-bellied blue-flycatcher, Crimson-backed sunbird , Nilgiri pipit.
Rare bird species- Ceylon frogmouth and great Indian horn-bill, long-legged buzzard.
