Kanwar Lake Bird Sanctuary (Bihar)


Kanwar Lake bird sanctuary is located in the marshes and grasslands spread around Kanwar Taal or Kabar Taal Lake, which is Asia’s largest freshwater oxbow lake.

It is located in Begusarai district of Bihar. Around 106 resident and 60 migratory bird species have been recorded in the sanctuary.

Birds commonly seen:

Oriental White-backed Vulture ,Long-billed Vulture ,Greater Adjutant stork, Greater Spotted Eagle, Lesser Kestrel, Sarus Crane, Painted Stork, Black-bellied Tern etc.
