Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve (Jammu, Kashmir)


Gulmarg Biosphere Reserve is situated 48 kms from Srinagar. It is famous for retaining several rare and endangered species. The main attraction is Musk deer. The area houses a good population of pheasants and upland birds.

Birds commonly seen:

Griffon Vulture, Monal, Snow Cock, Koklas pheasant, Blue Rock Pigeon, Kashmir Roller, European Hoopoe, Jungle Crow etc.
