Common Hawk Cuckoo bears resemblance to hawks which gives this group the generic name of hawk-cuckoo and like many other cuckoos these are brood parasites.

It is medium to large sized cuckoo. It ashy-grey above and whitish below with brown cross-bars. Eye have yellow eye-ring. Tail is broadly barred.Both sexes are alike.
Habitat: Where to find this bird?
It inhabits deciduous and semi-evergreen forests. It is also found in gardens and groves of tree.
It is almost arboreal and rarely descends to ground.It feeds mainly on insects and rarely on fruits and lizards.
Breeding & Nesting
Breeding season is from March to June. It is a brood parasite and lays its eggs in nests of other birds especially Babblers.
