Common buzzard is medium sized bird of prey and can be recognized easily with its rounded head and tail.
How does the bird appear…
It has brown plumage, with upperparts darker than underparts. Tail and flight feathers are barred, and the throat and breast may be streaked.
Habitat: Where to find this bird?
It inhabits variety of habitats but prefers woodland edges and wooded areas, interspersed with open habitats such as fields and meadows.
It feeds on voles, mice, rats, moles, young rabbits, hares and also preys on birds, reptiles, invertebrates and carrion.
Breeding & Nesting
It breeds between March to May. Nest is bulky platform of sticks placed in large trees and is built by both male and female. Incubation period is of 33-38 days. Female does incubation while male supplies food.
