Asan Barrage(Uttarakhand-Himachal Pradesh)


Asan Barrage is a low head diversion dam in the Uttarakhand-Himachal Pradesh border region in Doon Valley. Around 250 bird species are found here, amongst which 80 are water bird species.

Birds commonly seen:

Brahminy ducks, Ruddy Shel duck, Dabbling Duck, Diving Duck, Herons, Egrets, Storks, Ibises, Geese, Gadwall, Wigeon, Pintail Shoveller.

Nearest bus station:

Asan Barrage is connected to Dehradun, 38 km away by a highway, on the way to Paonta Sahib. Dehradun is well

connected by rail, road and air.
